CLINICAL FACILITIES :

 

For the Practical training of our students, we have made arrangements in two famous and well known hospital i.e, CHITAGUPPI HOSPITAL & VIVEKANAND GENERAL HOSPITAL, Hubli which are sideby our institutions with more than 150 beds including Medical, Surgical, Pediatric, Maternity, Neonatology, Gynecology, E.N.T., Ophthalmology, Skin Psychiatry, Orthopedic and Intensive care and Intensive Cardiac care units.

Orientation in Psychiatric Nursing and Epidemic diseases Nursing is also provided for the period of one month.

Special Opportunities are also provided to our students to visit various Health and Social projects for their practical experience.

 

EXPERIENCE IN RURAL AREAS :

 

Training Rural Health Nursing Community is expected to enable the students to participate in the country's Health programme and gain experience Community Nursing and Health care. .

 

HOURS OF DUTY :

 
Working hours are up to a maximum of 36 hours a week. Each student has one day off during every week, arranged at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor concerned. Students are assigned night duty from time to time. All students are expected to spend a specific duration on night duty.
 

LIVING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES :

 

Hostel and School buildings are provided. All students are expected to be residents in the hostel.

Outdoor and Indoor recreational facilities are available. A variety of recreational and cultural programmes and social events reorganized. Students are encouraged to participate in activities of their choice. Recreational and educational movies are shown from time to time.

 

LIBRARY :

 

A well equipped library with professional and non-professional books, journals, periodicals, news papers are provided.

 

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATES :

 

There will be three public examinations (written and practical) held by the Government of Karnataka Board of Examinations at the end of each year.

The Institution conducts a selection examination before the Board of Examination and only those who pass in the selection examination will be allowed to appear for the Board of Examination. The minimum marks required for passing any examination is 50% in internal examination and 50% external examination in each subject.

No candidate is allowed to appear for Board Examination if his/her attendance in Theory Class and Clinical experience is less than 75% in each. The percentage of class room and clinical attendance general conduct of students and the performance in the clinical area all taken into consideration for the selection of examination.

 

STUDENTS HEALTH PROGRAMME :

 

A comprehensive health programme is available to all students. The preventive health programmes include physical examination, routine laboratory test and immunizations to maintain immunity. Students undergo a complete medical checkup every year.

 

VACATION AND HOLIDAYS :

 

Students are eligible for one month (30 days) leave annually. This is arranged according to the convenient of the Hospital and the institution.

Students are entitled to avail ten days sick leave per annum. The leave application certified by a registered medical fractioned authorised by the Institution / Govt. Medical Practitioner.

 

SICK LEAVE :

 

N.B.:

 

1. Sick leave can not be accumulated no other leave entitled. If student availed more than above days
    he/ she has discontinued for the academic year and admit next academic year as a fresh candidate.
